Environment Protection Agency

At the Environment Protection Agency (EPA-SL), we utilize every avenue to bridge the communication gap between us, the partners we work with, and the public we serve.
Today, the Executive Chairman, Dr Abu-Bakar Massaquoi, gave a keynote address to a gathering of leading environmental NGOs, who are reviewing two previous documents: the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 1.0 and NDC 2.0) and the priorities that must be set in #NDC 3.0.

These platforms remind us of our responsibilities to develop a document that is reflective of our priorities as a country, one that defines our identity and creates a strong global and regional force that opens access to finance and partnership opportunities for us as a country.

The Deputy Director of Field Operations and Extensions (FOE) Directorate, Aiah Wurie Kembay, in a learning forum also highlighted the significance of keeping our rivers and tributaries free from pollution and illegal activities.
He also explained to some members of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) how tremendous their support is to the agency as we mount a crackdown against illegal riverbed mining activities.

Environmental management and protection are an inclusive approach, and the EPA leaves no one behind in its effort to build an environmentally secure future for Sierra Leone.
Or heartfelt appreciation to Trócaire , CAFOD and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces for the invitations.
