EPA SIERRA LEONE AND EPA LIBERIA at COP30 in Belem, Brazil SIGNED MoU


On the 18th November, 2025, at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, the Environment Protection Agency Sierra Leone and
Liberia’s EPA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), promoting joint initiatives, better coordination, shared standards, and regional efforts to tackle environmental issues.
This strengthens cross-border collaboration in conserving shared ecosystems, combating climate change, and promoting sustainable resource governance.
The partnership reflects a renewed commitment to environmental protection for present and future generations, stemming from staff exchanges, peer visits, and bilateral meetings.
Representatives from the #NDC Partnership, Global Centre for Climate Mobility, National Adaptation Plan-Global Network, and Forestry Development Authority of Liberia highlighted the importance of bilateral efforts to address transboundary environmental governance challenges.
Sierra Leone’s Minister of Environment, Jiwoh Emmanuel Abdulai, reaffirmed the country’s dedication to implementing the MOU and enhancing environmental governance.
