Sierra Leone has officially launched its ambitious third generation of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0) at Sierra Leone’s pavilion at the ongoing Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Belém, Brazil

This evidence-based and forward-looking climate strategy conveys our approach to tackling climate change while also providing Sierra Leone with a new identity that reflects our role and purpose in the global community in the coming years.

It is more than simply meeting a Multilateral Environmental Agreement (MEA) obligation. It is our strategy to save our planet from the devastating crisis known as Climate Change.

Through this plan, we aim to mobilise about $2.97 billion from both domestic and international sources to implement actions that will help us cut 2,177 GgCO₂e by 2030 and 4,355 GgCO₂e by 2035.
With a solid foundation for our journey to deep decarbonisation and net zero by 2050, we are addressing sector-specific goals to improve adaptation and mitigation.

This is achievable, and we urge sectors, partners, and colleagues inside and outside government to work together to achieve a climate-resilient Sierra Leone.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported making this document and the day a reality.
